President Uhuru Kenyatta Fails to Address Jubilee Supporters in Eldoret Town, DP William Ruto Skips Event

Jubilee party supporters who had gathered along the streets of Eldoret town were left disappointed after President Uhuru Kenyatta failed to address them.

President Kenyatta on Friday avoided Eldoret town on his way to Moi Barracks where he presided over a pass-out parade.

Sources privy to the details revealed that the president who was to pass by the road to the event and address roadside rallies opted to fly in directly into the venue of the event.

This came as a confidential source revealed to a local newspaper that rival camps had hired and ferried youths to Eldoret town to heckle one another during his rally.

The rival camps support gubernatorial aspirants Jackson Mandago and Bundotich Kiprop alias Buzeki.

Their rivalry is threatening to split the Jubilee party with Mandago leading a host of other Members of Parliament from the region in threatening to sabotage Jubilee and lead the residents in supporting the opposition.

Deputy President (DP) William Ruto who had addressed other rallies with the President was also missing during the event that was attended by Mandago.

It is not clear why the DP skipped the event as a rebellion is brewing in his Rift Valley base over his alleged support for independent candidate businessman, Buzeki.

Sources further revealed that the two rivals had mobilised their supporters to cause disturbance fearing that the president would endorse one of them for the Uasin Gishu governorship.

Uasin Gishu woman representative aspirant Gladys Boss Shollei revealed that plans were underway for President Uhuru to hold a meeting with the two rival camps.

However, this failed to happen with the president postponing his rallies in some areas of Eldoret.
