4 Indicators That Ruto's Assassination Plot Letter is Fake

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have come up with four indicators that show a letter addressed to President Uhuru Kenyatta on DP William Ruto's alleged assassination plot could have been fake.

The anonymous letter, which was allegedly penned by one of his Cabinet Secretaries, claimed there was a plot to eliminate Deputy President William Ruto.

The detectives have since pointed out some irregularities and believe the letter could not have been genuine The Standard reports.

For instance, they stated that a letter cannot be addressed to the president directly, rather, protocol dictates that it goes through the Head of Public Service, Joseph Kinyua.

They further highlighted that a letter to the presidency on a Government letter head would not have been printed out on white paper.

They disclosed that the missive would have been penned on a blue or yellow conqueror paper.

Also, detectives drew suspicions on the language used on the letter, citing that the author signed off as 'your loyal cabinet secretary'.

The publication also divulged that a genuine letter would not have had more text after signing off unless to indicate who it was copied to.

On Monday, ICT CS Joe Mucheru, his Health counterpart Sicily Kariuki, Trade & Industrialization CS Peter Munya, appeared before the Directorate of Criminal Investigations over the claims.

It is also alleged that on Saturday, the DP informed the President of the plot against him, and he called for a meeting at State House.

In attendance were Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, Inspector General of Police Hilary Mutyambai, Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho, Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti and National Intelligence Service Director General Philip Kameru.

It is believed that in this meeting, the president revealed that some CSs, PSs and parastatal bosses from the Mt Kenya region had met at Hotel La Mada along Thika Road to plot against the DP.
