Ruto Ditches Convoy, Jumps on Boda Boda [VIDEO]

Deputy President William Ruto on Saturday, November 2, left his convoy behind as he jumped on a motorcycle in Salgaa, Nakuru County.

In a 15-second clip doing rounds online, the DP was seen riding on the boda boda with his security detail in tow.

Ruto was all smiles as he rode on the back of the two-wheeled vehicle which is used as a means of transport by many Kenyans.

Earlier, the DP presided over an empowerment program for boda boda saccos in Baringo County.

During the function, Ruto promised to support small businesses adding that they were the heart of the economy and society.

"They generate jobs, support families and provide opportunities for youth and women to command their own financial destiny.

"We are committed to creating the best environment for small businesses to thrive by improving infrastructure, capacity building, financial support and fast-tracking of licensing processes," Ruto stated.

It is not the first time that a public figure has caused excitement after riding on a boda boda.

On June 1, 2019, Sonko caught the attention of Nairobi residents after chosing a boda boda as his means of transport from City Hall to Pumwani Police Grounds for the Madaraka Day celebrations.
