The final results of the Kibra polls as announced by IEBC on Friday, November 8.

Khamisi Butichi Ramadhani of Ford Kenya garnered only 260.

Imran was handed his certificate by the IEBC returning officer Beatrice Saki on Friday morning, flanked by ODM's chief campaigner and Suna East MP Junet Mohammed and Ruaraka legislator TJ Kajwang.

In his victory speech, Imran congratulated the Jubilee legislators who chose him over the Jubilee candidate who was widely touted as DP William Ruto's candidate.

He narrated that he was not only the ODM candidate but also the 'Handshake' candidate and owed his victory to the indefatigable efforts of Jubilee leaders who backed his bid.

"I would like to thank you for standing with me through the hardships we faced before the elections. We had, however, set our sights on winning, and we did," Imran stated.

Imran also reached out to his other competitors and their supporters and beseeched them to unite and work as one for the sake of development in the Kibra constituency.

"There were many competitors, and each had their own supporters, but I appeal to all those who did not vote for me to shelve their differences and come on board so that we can develop the constituency," he stated.

During the by-election, Kibra was figuratively referred to as the ODM's bedroom owing to party leader Raila Odinga's 25-year tenure as the Member of Parliament for Lang'ata constituency, the constituency from which Kibra was created.
