How Alice Wahome is Paying for Angry Rant Against Uhuru

Kandara MP Alice Wahome on the morning of Monday, January 6, opened up on how her life has changed after ranting against President Uhuru Kenyatta in a viral video.

Appearing on Inooro TV's morning show, Inooro Ruciini, the fierce lawmaker revealed that she was under surveillance by police and that they were studying her activities for an opportunity to arrest her for the slightest wrongdoing.

During the lengthy interview, Wahome further stated that her convictions that she was under police radar were based on her interrogation of what she termed as maltreatment of leaders allied to Deputy President William Ruto.

“I am aware that the police are after me. You know right now they are actively trying to track any little mistakes made by those perceived to be supporters of the DP. Even when you look at most of the graft cases in court today, they are from the DP’s camp. Show me even one person who has been prosecuted who is not associated with the DP?

“There is an agenda to paint leaders allied to the DP as thieves and that they all are fighting for corrupt people. This will not go far and will not help our country triumph against corruption," she stated.

Wahome further pointed out that since calling Uhuru out as an existential threat to the economy, she has received a lot of support messages from Kenyans.

"Many Kenyans congratulated me for the remarks I made at Charles Rubia's burial. They told me that I was very articulate, I was not combative and that I said what they are not able to tell the president - to remind him to be wary of people around him. Let them allow the president to be free to interact with the people and the freedom to be told certain things,” she continued.

On Thursday, January 2, Wahome claimed that Kenyatta was solely responsible for the unenviable state of the Kenyan economy.

In a video sent to newsrooms, the vocal MP placed the blame squarely on Uhuru indicating that the head of state had failed in steering the country's economy in the desirable direction.

"I want to tell Kenyans that the biggest existential threat to Kenya's declining economy, democracy, freedom of speech and political association is Uhuru Kenyatta because he is on the driver's seat.

"Raila Odinga is his new machinery for hire and the BBI report is the special purpose vehicle," she disclosed.
