Aisha Jumwa, Chris Wamalwa Among MPs Replaced in NASA Purge

Barely days after the Jubilee Party kicked out several errant members from Parliamentary committees, the National Super Alliance (NASA) purge was effected on Thursday, May 28, after the coalition's Parliamentary Group meeting with the axe falling on 9 perceived rebels. 

NASA ejected Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa from the Parliamentary Service Commission, replacing her with Likoni MP Mishi Mboko from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa from Ford Kenya was ousted as the Deputy Minority Whip and was replaced by Tongaren MP Eseli Simiyu from the same party.

A statement seen by Kenyans.co.ke, signed by Suna East MP Junet Mohamed, confirmed the changes and announced seven other MPs had been de-whipped. 

South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro was relieved from his roles in the Agriculture and Livestock Committee and the Committee of Implementation.

Bungoma Woman Representative Catherine Wambilianga lost her positions in the Labour and Social Welfare, Education and Research and Committee on Selection committees.

Butere MP Tindi Mwale was ejected from the Energy Committe, Delegated Legislation Committe and the Committee on Selection.

Turkana Central MP Nakara Lodepe was also removed from the Defence and Foreign Relations Committee while Ugenya MP David Ochieng lost his place in the Health Committee.

West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi Mogaka was ousted from the Transport, Public Works and Housing committee and the Parliament Powers and Privileges Committee.

Kaloleni MP Paul Kahindi lost his place in the Public Investments Committee while Jomvu MP Bady Twalib was also kicked out of the Budget and Appropriations Committee.
