Raila Odinga's spokesperson Dennis Onyango on Tuesday, June 23, went on a tirade against Deputy President William Ruto and the whole Tanga Tanga faction.

Referencing the recent decision in the Jubilee Parliamentary Group Meeting that saw Garissa Town MP Aden Duale ejected as the Majority Leader, the communication specialist stated that the current purge was a result of Ruto's own political miscalculations.

"The DP arrived on the high table with Raila Odinga as his sole purpose and target. It has only landed the DP in the quagmire he is in now.

"Why he keeps funding and believing in the same strategy baffles me. Unless this hole was always his end game," he stated.

Onyango further stated that Ruto's political strategy of demonising Raila had failed him and would not work in his favour prior to the 2022 elections.

He further faulted Ruto's allies for constantly attacking his boss without substance, noting that fanatism in politics was coming to an end.

"Deputy President, you are going down. You are not the first to walk that path. There is room to go down with dignity and return to glory later.

"Get some brains around you. Insults, hacking, faking are what has driven you to this ditch. Get some brains around you," the spokesperson advised.

He further linked the current Ksh294 Million fraud case against Sirisia MP John Waluke as a result of the MP's association with the DP.

"I expect DP Ruto to come to help Major Waluke and many others who championed his course only to find themselves in deep trouble. William has enough troubles," he opined.

Onyango observed that Ruto's political career was on the rise when he was the deputy president during the first term only for things to change and he started working against the president.

He stated that people who were trusted by the Deputy President are the ones who led him down the wrong path.

The past couple of months has since seen politicians perceived to be allies of the Deputy President ejected from senior positions in the Senate and National assembly.

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and his Nakuru counterpart Susan Kihika were the first to face the axe before the purge moved to the National Assembly where Benjamin Washiali and Cecily Mbarire, were ejected from the Majority Whip and Deputy positions respectively.

Duale was later ousted as Majority Leader in the National Assembly and replaced by Kipipiri MP Amos Kimunya.
