Law Professor Makau Mutua on Tuesday, June 23 hit out at  Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen over what he termed as 'kicking and screaming' behaviour after being sent packing from the position of the Senate Majority Leader.

Mutua took to Twitter to castigate Murkomen over the manner in which he reacted when he was ouster as the Senate Majority Leader.

At the same time, the Teacher of Law lauded former National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale for his calm demeanour during his handed over speech on the floor of the House.

"Garissa Township MP Aden Duale took his sacking as Leader of Majority with CLASS like a man.

"Unlike Kipchumba Murkomen who’s been KICKING and SCREAMING since he was DISPATCHED as Leader of the Majority in the Senate. Your future is bright Mr Duale!" posted Mutua.

Murkomen took sometime before hurling his response on Wednesday, June 24 to remind Mutua of his rough time under former President Daniel Moi.

"When Moi BANISHED and DISPATCHED you from Kenya you have been KICKING, SCREAMING, RANTING, FIDGETING, WHINING, SQUIRMING etc for four decades (my entire lifetime).

"Why didn’t you act with CLASS like a man? By the way, have you stopped calling the President Mr.Kenyatta?" replied Murkomen.

The Elgeyo Marakwet Senator went on to retweet some of the comments on his post that hit out at Professor Mutua for his 'little' contribution to the country with Duale and Murkomen doing a lot for the nation.

Murkomen retweeted another comment that noted he was illegally ousted from his Senate Majority Leader position, unlike Duale who saw his removal coming.

Aden Duale was removed from his National Assembly Majority Leader position on Monday, June 22 following a Parliamentary Group meeting chaired by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Similarly Murkomen on Monday, May 11 was ousted from the Senate Majority Leader position and was replaced by West Pokot Senator Samuel Poghisio.

Makau Mutua, who as a young law student at the University of Nairobi was detained by the Moi regime in 1981 and then exiled for the next 10 years, cautioned against forgetting Moi’s excesses.
