Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho showed up to meet Senators dressed as casual as would a young man going to hang out with his friends.
The legislators had paid him a visit in his office at the Mombasa County headquarters on Wednesday, September 2.
He was dressed in a black plain t-shirt, brown khaki pants and sneakers without socks which many would admit was too casual for a meeting of that nature.
They discussed the outbreak of the pandemic and the various measures Mombasa county put in place in mitigating the effects of the virus.
The committee lauded the efforts of the Mombasa County Covid19 Emergency Response Committee and all stakeholders who were in the forefront in the war against the pandemic.
At the start of the pandemic, Mombasa and Nairobi Counties were tipped to be the most affected counties.
However, the curve seems to have been flattened in Mombasa following the zealous mitigation measures implemented by the governor.
Joho's lifestyle and dress code have been talking points for many fashion enthusiasts.
He has been spotted outfits that cost as much as Ksh 180,000 and has a closet worth millions.
He has certainly managed to afford himself the comforts he missed out on while growing up
"The challenges in secondary school like wearing my shirt one hour after washing it up shaped me to be who I am.
"When other students were going out for lunch, I stayed back to read because I never had lunch yet we smiled and expressed contentment, while praying for our lives to change. That was part of the struggle," Joho divulged during a past Q&A session with the National Youth Council delegates in July 2020.
