Public Service CAS Rachel Shebesh's position in government stood in question after the reshuffle by President Uhuru Kenyatta which saw new entrants and a number of officials moved to different departments.

In the new arrangement, Linah Jebii Kilimo was moved from the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries and posted to the Ministry of Public Service and Gender as Chief Administrative Secretary.

Kilimo's appointment caused uncertainty over the fate of Shebesh in the Ministry as there was no communication on whether she had been transferred or dropped.

The CAS has since clarified her position had been modified in the new government line-up.

"I was handling both Public service and Gender dockets in the Ministry. With the new changes, I will be in charge of Public Service and Linah Jebii will take on the Gender docket," she explained.

The CAS added that Kilimo was highly qualified to take on the responsibilities of her new position

"We are harnessing all our energies to ensure the government succeeds in achieving in its set agenda," she added.

Shebesh added that the Building Bridges Initiative ()BBI was a government agenda geared to uniting the country for development purposes.

On Thursday, February 18, President Kenyatta held a meeting with officers in the Senior Ranks of the Executive where he deliberated on priority government projects

He stated that among the top priorities was the completion of ongoing government projects and programs across all sectors and regions of the country.

Further, the President instructed the officials to ensure prudent utilization of public resources in service delivery, stating that Kenyans must always get the highest value return for their money.

The Head of State urged the officers to embrace teamwork and unity of purpose so as to deliver the promise of a better and prosperous Kenya for all.
