The One Kenya Alliance team consisting of Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, KANU leader Gideon Moi, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford-Kenya's Moses Wetangula, have vowed to work together in the upcoming by-elections.
The team, in a press briefing held on Wednesday, March 25 at the Serena Hotel, indicated that they would help Jubilee Party clinch seats in Juja, Garissa and Bonchari.
A clash is expected between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga as the two leaders battle it out in Bonchari as both Jubilee and ODM have fielded candidates.
"We will campaign for Jubilee. In fact, if they invite us, we may show them some tricks that we employ and it shall be well," Kalonzo bragged referring to the win in the Machakos senatorial seat where Agnes Kavindu beat her UDA opponents.
On his part, Gideon congratulated the candidates who had won in the just concluded by-elections, indicating that the victory had gone a long way to show that their match was unstoppable.
Further, he stated that the One Kenya Alliance team would pull out of the elections to give Jubilee a sure win.
The team indicated that they had come together with the aim of bringing the country together and shunning from politics of abuse and divisiveness.
The alliance did not hide its rivalry with ODM and its party leader Raila, who was described as anti-democratic.
"Malala was removed because he helped his party win the Matungu seat. His removal amounted to blackmail because some people became bitter because of the result of democratic competition," Mudavadi stated.
The alliances are starting to shift and align ahead of 2022. Already, both the DP and Raila have hinted at working together come 2022.
In an interview on Thursday morning, the DP stated that he was ready to work with ODM leader and rival Raila Odinga as long as they share economical goals.
Ruto pointed out that he and Raila have almost similar goals, all of which are aimed at uplifting the country.
“The former Prime Minister and I read from the same script on the need to have political parties that have a national outlook,” he said.
He accused political leaders of conducting ethnic-based politics and indicated that he and the ODM leader were pushing political outfits which can be embraced nationally.
