Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development CAS Wavinya Ndeti was on Thursday, July 22, guilty of breaking a few ribs after she posted her latest Swahili proverb.

In the post, Wavinya stated; 'Utumwa sio heshima' instead of 'Heshima sio utumwa', exciting a section of Kenyans who took to the comment section to laugh off the faux pas.

Some, however, alleged that the CAS had intentionally made the remark to pass across a serious message.

"Wavinya Ndeti has it again! After yaliyo ndwele sipite, now its utumwa si heshima. Its supposed to be heshima si utumwa," Elly Decanes stated.

"Mhesh is right, am trying to figure out what she was thinking and definitely, if you look into it in distinctive perspective, I think you will back her up," Eugene Onesmus commented.

Ndeti further asked her followers not to allow politicians to take them for granted. She alleged that some were fuelling the narrative that the Kamba community were small in number.

"If the votes of the Kamba people are small in your small minds, what are you doing in Ukambani? The disrespect y'all will stop," she stated.

In 2017, when Ndeti was seeking votes for the Machakos gubernatorial seat, she mistakenly said  ‘Yaliyo ndwele si pite’ instead of 'yaliyopita si ndwele.'

The phrase, which means that people should not dwell on the past, went viral on social media platforms.

Some of the creatives coined the Wavinya Ndeti challenge, created memes while a musician by the name MC Njaggy went as far as creating a song.
