KDF Announces Changes in Nairobi Recruitment Drive

The Ministry of Defence has announced changes in the recruitment of Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officers exercise in Nairobi

In a notice in local dailies dated Wednesday, November 10, the Ministry advised interested participants to take note of the change of venue for the exercise slated for Monday, November 15, 2021.

Initially, the exercise was scheduled to take place at Nyayo National Stadium but was moved to City Stadium.

The new change is expected to affect participants from Embakasi Sub County.

"Please be informed that the venue for the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) recruitment for Nairobi County (Embakasi Sub County) that was to be held on Monday, November 15, 2021, at Nyayo National Stadium has now been moved to City Stadium. All other details remain the same," read the notice in part.

The notice also indicated that scheduled recruitment drives in other parts of the city would remain as announced initially.

According to a notice released by the Ministry towards the end of October 2021, recruitments in the city are expected to take place at Jamhuri Grounds in Lang'ata as well as Kasarani's Moi International Sports Centers.

In the exercise, the Ministry of Defence noted that it was seeking to recruit General Service Officer Cadets (Graduate degree holders), Specialist Officers, General Duty Recruits, Tradesmen and women, and Defence Forces Constables.

“The public is notified that the recruitment exercise is scheduled to take place in the month of November 2021 and will take place across the country on designated dates,” the advert read.

In general, all applicants are expected to be Kenyan citizens and be in possession of a valid Kenyan National Identity Card (ID).

Additionally, four (4) copies of the National Identity Card and Personal Identification Number (PIN) Certificate will be required.

The candidates are also expected to be aged between 18 and 26 years for GSO Cadets and General Duty Recruits, below 30 years for Specialist Officers and Tradesmen/women and below 39 years for Chaplains/Imams and Medical Consultants.
