Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has attacked the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga for what he termed as an obsession with the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) that was nullified by the courts on two separate occasions.
Taking to his social media on Sunday, January 16, Kuria criticised the way in which Raila has decided to achieve the one man, one vote, one shilling vote.
According to Kuria, Raila believes that the fall of various projects was due to the collapse of the BBI. He compared Raila's strategy to a carpenter whose only solution to all his problems is to use the hammer.
Advising the former premier, Kuria noted that he ought to push the amendments through Parliament in order to achieve the same and inconsequentially, woo the voters in the upcoming General Election and beat his opponents.
"To a carpenter, a hammer is the solution to every problem. To Raila Odinga, changing the constitution is the solution to achieving the one man, one vote, one shilling. On Saturday, he told the Kiambu Delegates Meeting in Thika that the reason the County is not getting an additional Ksh9 Billion it deserves is because of the collapse of BBI."
"If Raila believes in the one man, one vote one shilling he should ask his MPs to support the same Amendment in Parliament the same way he is pushing for the Political Parties Bill within the remaining life of the 12th Parliament," Kuria affirmed.
The legislator, who is still recuperating at American Hospital in the United Arab Emirates, has been taking to his social media to give his two cents on the state of politics in the country.
Recently, he refuted claims that he had reached a working agreement with the former Prime Minister- noting that the allegations were propagated by supporters of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party led by Deputy President William Ruto.
"You have enough people left in UDA. Focus on retaining them. Do not stress too much on the only one (Kuria) who has left," he responded, in a statement posted on his social media pages.
The MP unveiled Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) in July 2021 after being kicked out of the People's Empowerment Party (PEP).
He recently appointed former State House Director of Political and Intergovernmental Affairs, Michael Waikenda as the chairman of the party's National Elections Board.
