"I am in Kisii and I am so happy. I expected he would pass but did not think he would be number one. Bruce is in Ongata Rongai. I think he already knows but his phone is busy, I am not able to reach him.

"I planned for him to join Alliance. I talked to him to get the dream school. His dream is Aeronautical Engineering. He is not so much into medicine," stated the elated father.

During the announcement, Bruce was followed by Momanyi Ashley Kerubo from Makini School who scored 427 marks as well as Kuoma Charity Buyanzi from Holy Family Misikhu Girls Primary School who got 426 marks.

Margaret Wanyonyi, the  Headteacher Makini School in Kisumu which produced the second-best candidate heaped praises on Momanyi Ashley Kerubo.

She noted that Kerubo was a very hardworking candidate who worked closely with her teachers as well as other students and was very inquisitive.

"We are very excited, she has worked very hard and we thank God for her. She is a very disciplined girl, very organised and God-fearing. She also worked very closely with her classmates and her teachers. God has paid her for her effort and she is a very humble girl.

"The journey has been very tough taking into account that they had to stay home for 9 months. Ashley is a bright girl but works very hard. Every time she does an exam, she is very keen to go to the teacher to find out why did I fail this question and where did I go wrong," stated Wanyonyi.
