KCAA Announces Auction of Vehicles at JKIA: How to Bid

Kenyans can now place bids after Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) announced that it was auctioning motor vehicles at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

In a notice dated Tuesday, June 21, the authority invited bids from both companies as well as individuals which should reach its headquarters at JKIA by Tuesday, June 28.

The vehicles on sale include Toyota Hiace which has a reserve price of Ksh537,000 while a number of Cherry Tigo's are going for Ksh120,000 each. Originally, a Cherry Tigo costs Ksh4 million.

The official bid-opening exercise will take place on Tuesday, June 28, at KCAA headquarters at the JKIA.

"The tenderer shall bear all costs associated with the preparation and submission of its tender, and the Procuring Entity, will in no case be responsible or liable for those costs, regardless of the conduct or outcome of the tendering process," read the statement in part.

How to Bid

Interested bidders are required to obtain official bidding documents Invitation to tender, Instructions to tenderers, Schedule of items and prices, Conditions of Tender, Form of tender, Confidential Business Questionnaire Form, and  Tender Commitment Declaration Form. All the documents can be obtained from KCAA.or.ke

The tenderer is expected to put a deposit for every item tendered for and the amount indicated on the form failure to which they will be disqualified and their funds reverted.

The successful Tenderer's tender deposit will be credited to his tender price so that it forms part of the amount of the tender and the tender will be required to pay the tender priceless the deposit security.

"Prospective tenders are advised to view the items to be sold before tendering. This will enable them to arrive at the most reasonable and competitive tenders. Tenders are based on 'as where it is and the condition it is in' and the conditions of the items are not guaranteed or warranted by the seller," added the statement in part.

The bid is to be delivered at in a single, sealed envelope bearing the name and Reference number of the tender addressed to the procuring entity and a warning not to open before the time and date for the tender opening date.

Separately, the Kenya Film and Classification Board (KFCB) announced that it is seeking tenders to dispose of unserviceable and obsolete equipment and assets.

Applicants can obtain tender documents from its website and must hand them in by Wednesday, June 29, 2022.
