International Fugitive Wanted for Murder Traced to Kenya

Anmol Bishnoi an Indian who is wanted for murder has been traced to Kenya by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) after a search was launched to nab him and his accomplices.

According to News 18, an Indian outlet, Bishnoi fled India using a fake passport issued by the Regional Passport Office, Delhi.

Punjab police noted that Bishnoi's brother, Lawrence Bishnoi, was the mastermind behind the murder of singer Sidhu Moosewala on May 29 in Mansa in broad daylight.

Police added that Lawrence Bishnoi intended to execute the murder while out of the country to avoid being noticed or held culpable.

Also, Lawrence was involved in obtaining the fake passports for Anmol Bishnoi and Sachin Thapan.

Anmol Bishnoi is facing murder charges alongside Sachin Thapan, Goldy Brar, and Lipin Nehra. The four are accused of shooting singer Sidhu Moosewala on May 29.

The other accused Sachin Thapan was traced to Azerbaijan where he was detained with the help of Indian authorities. Police have added that plans are underway to extradite Thapan to India. 

The Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) and the Mansa police were noted to be preparing documents to extradite Thapan.

“The Punjab police, with the help of central agencies and government of India, traced accused Sachin Thapan to Dubai and then to Azerbaijan where he has been detained,” Punjab DGP Guarav Yadav said.

The Ministry of External Affairs alongside the  Punjab Police has sought all details about Bishnoi and Thapan to arrest them.

Anmol allegedly has 18 criminal cases pending against him. He was also released on bail from Jodhpur jail on October 7, 2021.

Similarly, Thapan is wanted in 12 criminal cases.
