VIDEO: Uhuru Moves In to Fight Drugs in Mombasa

President Uhuru Kenyatta has issued strict directives against illicit drugs at Kenya's coastal region.

He has ordered leaders to lead the crackdown immediately, as they are aware of the people involved and the location of the activities.

He spoke this during the opening of the Mombasa show ground on Thursday.

The president emphatically stated that whoever will be caught, firm legal action will be taken against them.

He further insisted that not only the drugs will be destroyed, but also the vessel caught ferrying the illegal drugs into the country.

A couple of few weeks ago the police seized a vessel smuggling heroin across the Indian ocean.

Kenyatta's orders against illicit drugs come after a successful fight against second generation brew in the country.

Reports indicate that more than 20,000 youth in Mombasa are drug addicts.

The Jubilee government has remained firm on its fight against drugs in the country.
