James Nyagarama

The country woke up on the morning of Thursday, December 18, 2020, to the sad news of the passing   away of Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama.

Up until his death, he was the beloved county boss of Nyamira since he was elected to the position in 2017 on the Orange Democratic Party ticket.

He was the third governor to die during his tenure after Nyeri’s Patrick Wahome Gakuru who died in a road accident in November 2017 and Bomet county’s Joyce Laboso in July 2019.

Simeon Nyachae

Veteran Politician Simeon Nyachae died on February 1, 2021, after battling illness for over a long period of time. 

Arguably one of the most prominent politicians to come from the Kisii region, Nyachae's tenure in politics amassed over four decades.

He served in various ranks in government through the Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, Mzee Daniel Arap Moi and former President Mwai Kibaki regimes.

Boniface Mwangi

Boniface Mwangi is a Kenyan Photojournalist, politician and activist. He is majorly involved in social-political activism. 

He is the co-founder of Pawa-254 which he runs alongside his wife, Njeri Mwangi. Pawa 254 was formed in 2010. 

Evans Kidero

Evans Odhiambo Kidero is a Kenyan Businessman and a politician who served as the first Governor of Nairobi between 2013 and 2017. 

He is a pharmacist by profession having studied at the University of Nairobi for his undergraduate degree. 

Nick Salat

Nicholas Kiptoo Korir Salat is a Kenyan politician who is currently the Secretary-General of the independence party  Kenya African National Union (KANU). 

Salat first started having an interest in politics in 1996 when he became the organizing secretary of KANU. His father Isaac Kipkorir Salat was also an MP. His father held the position for three terms between 1974 to1988. 

Isaac Ruto

Isaac Ruto is a Kenyan politician hailing from the Rift Valley Region. He studied political science at the University of Nairobi. 

Ruto joined politics in 1997 when he was elected as the Member of Parliament for Chapalungu Constituency. He also worked as an assistance minister in the ministry of Education and Agriculture. 

Mwangi Kiunjuri

Mwangi Festus Kiunjuri is a Kenyan politician who has served in various capacities in the government. 

Kiunjuri is a teacher by profession having taught for only one year before venturing into politics in 1997. 

He was the Member of Parliament for Laikipia East Constituency between 1997 and 2013. 

Kiprop Buzeki

Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop, popularly known as Buzeki, is a Kenyan politician and businessman. 

He made his way into politics when he competed with Jackson Mandago for the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat. 

He is the founder and Managing Director of multiple companies in Kenya which are tied to Buzeki Group of Companies. 

Peter Kenneth

Peter Kenneth is a Kenyan politician who previously served as Member of Parliament for Gatanga Constituency between 2002 and 2013. 

He also worked in the government as an assistant minister in the ministries of Cooperative Development and Marketing and the Ministry of Finance.
