The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) on Friday announced an update to its portal to ease the collection of number plates and driving licences.
In a statement, the Authority revealed that Kenyans seeking to search for their uncollected driving licences would only require their Identity Card to do so.
According to NTSA, access to the Authority's portal did not require any registration as compared to previous situations, noting the process was free.
Similarly, Kenyans seeking to search for their reflective number plates were directed to use the registration number of their vehicles or motorcycles.
“The Portal provides information on the location or centre where the smart driving licence or number plate should be collected from,” NTSA noted.
NTSA further revealed the portal had been updated and had a platform to escalate concerns relating to smart driving license and number plate service applications.
“Feedback to clients upon resolution of complaints/concerns is sent through the email addresses provided by the client at the point of submission via the portal,” NTSA stated.
The announcement by NTSA comes barely three weeks after Huduma Kenya directed Kenyans who are yet to collect their documents including driving licenses to do so.
While issuing the directive, Huduma Kenya disclosed that about 45, 575 smart driving licenses were yet to be collected from different centres across the country.
Kenyans who had applied for driving licences were directed to report to any of the 15 available centres across the country and collect their documents.
“Issuance of Drivers License Biometrics is available at our 15 select Huduma Centres Countrywide,” read part of the statement by Huduma Kenya.
