2 Students of Stephjoy Boys High School Die In Dormitory Fire

A dormitory fire has claimed the lives of 2 students from Stephjoy Boys High School in Kiambu County, injuring 11 others.

The 1 am fire was started by students, their motive unclear.

Area OCPD Mohamed Bakuli has confirmed the incident.

Witnesses say the fire could have been fatal had the students not acted swiftly, since the dormitory houses over 50 students.

The school is a private secondary school which has a total population of about 400 students.

Their sister school, Stephjoy Girls High School was closed two weeks ago following a similar fire incident.

Five dormitories were burnt down after students used potassium permanganate to set their mattresses ablaze.

The motive of the fire was also unclear then, coming only a few days after six girls who had dissapeared after sneaking from the school were found.
