President Uhuru Kenyatta Visits Sigor Town in Bomet County

Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto, who is also a principal in the National Super Alliance (NASA), is in trouble after being abandoned by residents of his own home turf.

Ruto, on Friday received a backlash from leaders and residents of Sigor town who claimed they had turned their back on him to ‘teach him a lesson’ during the upcoming General Election.

Led by Chepalungu MP Paul Savimbi who was speaking during a visit by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto, the leaders maintained they were behind the Jubilee administration.

“The people of Chepalungu are with you contrary to what is going around. If you speak to elders you will know how much support you have here,” assured Savimbi.

The same was echoed by Bomet gubernatorial aspirant on a Jubilee ticket Joyce Laboso who said residents came out in large numbers to send a message to the Governor.

“This is the home of Isaac Ruto and the people have come out in large numbers to pass the message that they want change. They want work and not confrontations,” asserted the Deputy Speaker.

President Kenyatta received a warm welcome from hundreds of supporters where he divulged that he never had a grudge against Governor Ruto.

He claimed that the county boss had just chosen the wrong path by joining the Opposition which he said was against the wish of the electorate.

Addressing the same rally, the DP blasted the NASA co-principal accusing him of neglecting his residents and concentrating on popularising the Opposition.

“He should have been working for own village instead of going round the country launching political parties,” he stated.

Kenyatta and DP Ruto were in the South Rift region to continue their vote hunting mission ahead of the August General Election.
