Ruiru Jubilee Parliamentary Nominee Simon Ng'ang'a' Fearing for His Life After House was Burnt

The Nairobi home of Jubilee's Ruiru Parliamentary candidate Simon Ng'ang'a was on Tuesday set ablaze by unknown assailants.

Following the torching of his house, Mr Ng'ang'a who lived in Garden Estate, Roysambu Constituency, alleged that there were plans to eliminate him because of his win in the nominations.

The Ruiru Jubilee nominee accused his rivals of perpetrating the attack but did not mention any names.

“I have been receiving threats from unknown people. I have also noticed people trailing my car on different occasions. Last Saturday, the same people attempted to burn my house but the fire was contained.

“Unfortunately, the assailants succeeded in their mission and burned my house. Nobody was home by then...I was alerted by neighbours," he stated.

The politician expressed that his life was in danger, asking the police to take his concerns seriously and provide sufficient security for his family.

“I have been ignoring all the signs and taking them lightly but if recent events are anything to go by, I believe my life and my family are in danger," he stated.

Mr Ng'ang'a is the second politician to have his house burned after Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo's house was also torched in April by protestors in Mbita.
