Governor William Kabogo Accused of Paying Kiambu Jubilee Nomination Losers Sh30,000 Each to Move to NASA

Kabete Member of Parliament (MP) Ferdinand Waititu has claimed that his rival, Kiambu Governor William Kabogo paid 25 Jubilee Party politicians from Kiambu Sh30,000 each to move to the National Super Alliance (NASA).

Speaking on Kameme FM,  Waititu, who is eyeing the Kiambu Governor's seat, stated that he received the information from one of the defectors.

"Yesterday morning I spoke to one of the MCAs who moved from Jubilee to NASA. He revealed to me that on Sunday he and other Jubilee Party nomination losers met with Governor Kabogo who gave them Sh30000 each so that they could move to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM)," Waititu narrated.

He added: "The group comprises of 13 sitting MCAs and 12 MCA aspirants who are all Kabogo’s diehards."

Waititu’s remarks were echoed by Thika Town MP Alice Ng'ang'a who cited Kabogo's earlier remarks where he stated that politicians were free to move to the party of their choice.

Ms Nganga stated that Kabogo was on a mission to incite the people of Kiambu to stop supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election.

Earlier on, Kabogo had claimed that he was not aware of the defection by Kiambu Jubilee politicians to NASA.

The Jubilee Party politicians from Kiambu County defected to NASA on Monday.

The group was received by NASA leader Raila Odinga in Nairobi ahead of NASA’s tour to the county on Tuesday.
