NASA Leader Raila Odinga Skips National Prayer Meeting Attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta

National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga on Friday skipped a prayer meeting organised by the Evangelical Alliance of Kenya at Uhuru Park.

The event was held to pray for the country ahead of the General Election and was graced by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.

Other leaders present included Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and other senior government officials.

Odinga on his part held a parallel prayer meeting alongside other NASA co-principals to also pray for peace.

It was widely expected that Odinga would meet President Kenyatta during the Uhuru Park function which he had been invited to, but that did not happen.

He had earlier asked the public to turn up for the rally in the normal dressing but with white caps and handkerchiefs to symbolise peace.

"We want to set the stage for a peaceful election and every Monday there will be a prayer for peace between the Saba Saba rally and the August 8 election," he stated.
