Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya Reveals NASA Co-Principals Plan to Deny ODM Numbers in Parliament

Tension is brewing in the National Super Alliance Coalition (NASA) after Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya revealed that some of the co-principals were plotting against the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

Oparanya accused Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka, ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetangula of campaigning against ODM candidates in a bid to deny Raila Odinga the numbers and hold him hostage if NASA wins.

“They come here and tell you to vote their party candidates, because they want to deny Raila the numbers. NASA is only at the top for the presidential candidate, but each party campaigns for other seats independently,” he claimed.

He accused the trio of demonizing ODM candidates for their own interests in the August elections.

Last week, Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale had stated that the affiliate parties in the NASA coalition must deny Raila the majority in the National Assembly and the Senate to effectively implement the coalition aspirations.

“Other NASA parties must have more seats to effectively oversight the ODM president. Otherwise, Raila will ignore other partners and do as he wishes and his ODM,” he affirmed.

He advocated for equal sharing of the seats among the affiliated parties with the Western block being given to either ANC or Ford Kenya and ODM taking the Kisumu, Nairobi and Mombasa governorship seats.

Mudavadi has been campaigning for his party candidates stating that the co-principals would retain more power in the coalition by the number of seats they can deliver to the alliance.
