ANC Leader Musalia Mudavadi Asks Uhuru Kenyatta to Pay "Bride Price" for Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka

National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Musalia Mudavadi has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Jubilee party to pay "bride price" for Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka.

The Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader asserted that the ruling party had unlawfully "married" the Bungoma Governor who was in 2016 a party leader in the New Ford Kenya party.

"Lusaka is married to Jubilee party and we have waited for the bribe price, but they have not paid," Mr Mudavadi told the crowd at the Bukembe market.

The NASA leader bashed the Jubilee party saying that it was incapable of fulfilling any other promises.

”If Jubilee cannot pay bribe price, how will it ensure that unemployed youths are employed, develop infrastructure and have the economy grow by double digit?

He urged Ford Kenya gubernatorial candidate for Bungoma, Mr Wycliffe Wangamati, to ensure that Jubilee pays the metaphoric bride price.

Mudavadi noted that going by the culture of the Luhya people, failing to pay bride price is a bad omen.

He campaigned on behalf of the NASA candidate calling on the voters to oust the Jubilee administration which he said had failed to even negotiate with the Opposition on Lusaka's move.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Thursday banned campaigns for the two governorship candidates following chaos that rocked a funeral they attended in Kimilili.

During the ceremony, two people were injured after Lusaka's supporters engaged in a violent confrontation with those of Wangamati.

The two groups had attended the burial of Lusaka's campaign coordinator, Edward Juma who was attacked and shot dead.
