Kondele Residents Celebrate After NASA Claims Raila Odinga Leads in Presidential Race

Sections of Kisumu town erupted in celebrations on Thursday evening following an announcement by the National Super Alliance (NASA).

Residents of Kondele area took to the streets to celebrate after NASA claimed that its flag bearer Raila Odinga was leading in the presidential race.

They run around in joy waving branches while shouting anti-jubilee slogans temporarily disrupting business and causing some traffic.

A contingent of police officers was deployed in the area to monitor the situation though the residents were peaceful.

Moments earlier, Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi claimed that Odinga was leading in the provisional results with the IEBC.

According to Mudavadi, the actual results in the IEBC servers indicated that Odinga was leading with 8,041,726 with President Uhuru Kenyatta following with 7,755,428.

NASA alleged that this was as per confidential information from a source at the IEBC which indicated that the results being displayed by the media were false.

The Opposition, therefore, demanded that the polls body stops displaying the unofficial results which have been trickling in from the various polling stations.

The NASA leaders also want the IEBC to allow political parties to download the forms 34A and 34B so that they can verify the results.

Finally, they finally demanded that Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka be immediately declared the President and the Deputy President-elect.
