Ababu Namwamba's Brother Tom Namwamba's Home Attacked

The family of outgoing Budalangi Member of Parliament (MP) Ababu Namwamba is living in fear after unknown attackers raided their home at Port Victoria, Busia County, twice and destroyed property.

Ababu's brother, Prof Tom Namwamba, while speaking to KTNNews stated that his family was scared after an unknown gang raided his home thrice in a period of one week.

Prof Namwamba, who is also the family's spokesperson, claimed that the attacks were politically motivated as the raiders only destroyed property without injuring anyone or taking anything.

"The attackers broke the door glass broke the padlocks and managed to pull the locks and access the house.

We reported the matter to the police hoping that they would not come back. On 7th, they came back. The strange thing is that on the different attacks they accessed the house, they never carried anything leaving me to believe that this was a political attack to scare me," he stated.

The Prof accused Budalangi MP-elect Raphael Wanjala of sponsoring the attacks to scare and intimidate the Namwamba family.

"I strongly believe that this gang has been sponsored by Raphael Wanjala to intimidate the Namwamba family as a way to get to Ababu's focused thinking," the Prof stated.

The family has called on the police to speed up the investigations and beef up their security to prevent them from any more attacks.

"I want to appeal to the police and the security agencies to speed up the investigations and apprehend the culprits," he noted.

Namwamba lost his Budalangi seat after garnering 9,795 votes against Wanjala's 11,182 votes.
