Musalia Mudavadi Speaks on Isaac Ruto Missing NASA Events

National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal Musalia Mudavadi has dismissed claims that former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto is not in good terms with the Opposition coalition.

Speaking during a press briefing on Monday afternoon, Mudavadi stated that Ruto was still in touch with the other co-principals, saying there is nothing to worry about.

"I would like to assure you that we are in touch with Governor Isaac Ruto.

"He has assured us that he is firmly on board...We have no doubt that he is firmly with us. He is handling a few issues.

"We have apologies from him," he stated, after constant questions from the press over Ruto's whereabouts.

Since losing his seat to current Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso, Ruto has rarely been seen in the media, leading to speculation that he is plotting a move to Jubilee Party.

The Chama Cha Mashinani party leader was also missing during NASA's major address after the Supreme Court ruled on the presidential petition on Friday and on Sunday as the Opposition held a rally in Mathare.

Last month, President Uhuru Kenyatta stated that Ruto was welcome back to the Jubilee fold despite being one of the principals in the National Super Alliance.

At the inauguration of Laboso, the President said Mr Ruto had shown political maturity by conceding and accepting to hand over power.

"You have shown that you are a true man.

"I want to ask you to come back. You don’t have to stay with that man of riddles,” he said referring to opposition leader Raila Odinga.
