Moses Wetangula Shames President Uhuru Kenyatta in Nyamira

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has described Uhuru Kenyatta as a "red-eyed" President warning that he (Uhuru) will not get any votes in Western and Kisii region.

Speaking during a rally in Nyamira on Tuesday afternoon, Wetangula said Kenyatta had no moral authority to attack Chief Justice David Maraga calling him a crook.

"Before attacking Maraga, he should examine the 'thief' that is his deputy.

"The other day he came to address the nation with blood-shot eyes and we realised he has lost his bearing," stated Wetangula.

During the rally, NASA leader Raila Odinga also asked Nyamira residents to turn out in large numbers to vote for him but he insisted that the electoral body should be changed first.

The president has faced criticism from various quarters after his sentiments that he would deal with Maraga after the annulment of his re-election.

Residents of Kisii region demanded an apology from President Uhuru warning that they would not vote for him come October 17.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) announced October 17 as the date for the fresh presidential election but leaders of the opposition warned that they would not participate unless their grievances were heard.

Odinga stated that he would like the repeat presidential election to be held on either October 24 or October 31.

He maintained that the October 17 date given by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) was not consultative.
