Nairobi Police Boss Beaten by Moi Girls School Parent

Nairobi Police Commander Japheth Koome was roughed up by an angry parent at the Moi Girls School Nairobi.

The angry mother took out her frustrations on the police boss who had visited the school to assist his officers in investigating the cause of the fire that claimed the lives of 10 girls.

Mr Koome was seen struggling to protect himself from the woman who was out to hit him with a bag she was carrying.

Police officers came to the rescue as they shielded their Commander from the woman, who was led away.

The police boss dropped his phone during the brief encounter and it remains unclear what could have caused the exchange between the two.

Education CS Fred Matiang'i dismissed suspicions that the tragic fire was an accident, terming it an arson attack.

Police have identified four girls suspected to have been involved in the attack. The girls are set to be arraigned in court by the end of the week.
