ODM Leaders Reject NASA Co-Principal

Leaders from the ODM party have rejected the enjoining of former Meru Governor Peter Munya as the sixth principal in the National Super Alliance (NASA).

The ODM legislators have rejected the move saying that they were not consulted before the leader was allowed to join the Opposition coalition.

The leaders also protested the idea claiming that Mr Munya adds no value to the NASA team as evidenced by the results the Opposition gathered from his Meru backyard.

Led by Malindi Member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa, the dissenting legislators stated that there were other candidates more suited for the position.

"Munya adds no value to NASA especially after the results we saw from Meru County.

"All I’m asking is, do we require parties without numbers, without any value to the opposition to join us and those who’ve worked and sacrificed from the beginning be left out," Ms Jumwa posed.

The Malindi MP further echoed sentiments from her counterparts who on Tuesday called for either Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi or Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho to be made co-principal.

"Governor Kingi has delivered 100%. Joho as well. He sacrificed and delivered across the country. We have been left wondering how someone can come in today and be made a principal that the requirement is that you must have a party.

"When Kingi was working, others were with Jubilee, today they have come here and have been made principals, The only principals we recognise are Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula," the legislator asserted.
