First Daughter Ngina Kenyatta Pictured Preparing Maize [PHOTOS]

First Lady Margaret Kenyatta was on Friday accompanied by her daughter Ngina Kenyatta in a tour of a village in Kapenguria, West-Pokot County, to meet with mothers and women leaders.

The two were received by Governor John Lonyang'apuo and went ahead to visit several homesteads where Mrs Kenyatta rolled out a mosquito-net distribution exercise.

They also helped in a physical exercise of shelling maize which could be for Githeri - a local delicacy made of maize and beans - or milling for Unga. In pictures capturing the moment, residents of the area were seen amused by the humility of the first family.

A man only identified as Mr. Machario and his family also got a chance to host the first lady at his home in Mnagei Ward, Katumok Village where Ngina held his baby and put it to bed.

The Head of State was in Central Kenya on Friday in a bid to ask voters to turn out in large numbers to elect him again.

“The focus for us is going back to the citizens to request that they vote for us again, based on our record and campaign manifesto.

“We are meeting leaders to discuss our approach, and then everyone goes back to every town and every village, where our voters really are,” stated the President.
