DP William Ruto Advises Raila on How to Deal With 12 IEBC Bosses

Deputy President William Ruto has advised the National Super Alliance (NASA) team to pursue constitutional channels to remove IEBC officials from office.

Speaking on Sunday, DP Ruto cautioned the NASA team against calling for street protests to ensure that 12 IEBC officials are sacked.

"This is a country which is governed by the Constitution and the rule of law. Nobody, even my boss the President, is above the law. And nobody can dare threaten Kenyans. Any other unconstitutional means are unacceptable," the DP stated.

Hitting out at the Opposition coalition, Mr Ruto warned that issuing threats of chaos and violence in the name of pushing for electoral reforms in the country would not be tolerated.

"One person cannot dictate to us that there will be no elections in Kenya. As Jubilee, we are ready for the elections, same as the 19 million registered voters," he asserted.

Opposition Leader Raila Odinga had just moments earlier launched a campaign to kick out 12 IEBC bosses who allegedly messed up the August election.

In a statement, Mr Odinga noted that IEBC as currently constituted cannot conduct a free and fair election and as such, NASA had launched a campaign against the Commission and its Senior officials.

"Today, we launch our campaign against any elections held by IEBC as currently constituted. We shall go around the country sensitizing about our case against the Commission.

"We shall sensitize our people about the reforms that must take place before they can be called for another election," Odinga stated.
