Regarding the cancellation of the campaigns, The Spokesman explained that the rallies were rescheduled because they coincided with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s trip to the region.

“We want them to finish their rallies first before we go there,” Onyango stated.

On Friday, NASA canceled a series of rallies at the Coast that were scheduled for the weekend.

The Opposition led by Mr Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka were scheduled to address roadside rallies at Akamba Handicraft, Bangladesh and Tudor before heading to Frere Town for a big rally.

The leaders were on Sunday supposed to address NASA supporters in Likoni and Kombani before ending the tour with a major rally in Ukunda.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke,  Matuga MP Hassan Mwanyoha explained the cancellation, stating:  "The campaign tour was sudden. It's just because of planning issues."

He, however, assured NASA supporters that other plans were in place to run a major campaign tour in the area very soon.
