You Should Face Me in 2022- DP Ruto Dares Raila

Deputy President William Ruto has dared National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga to let President Uhuru Kenyatta finish his second term and vie in 2022 elections.

Addressing a rally in Garissa town on Monday, the Deputy President told the Opposition leader to prepare himself to face him in the 2022 presidential election.

"We had advised them that they cannot defeat Uhuru in this election and we'd told them to let Uhuru finish his two terms so that they can plan how they will challenge me in 2022.

"By the looks of things, Raila has already prepared himself for 2022  for he has withdrawn from the fresh October election. He's said he doesn't want to compete with Uhuru again, which is good. He should stop trying to challenge Uhuru and begin preparing himself to face me in 2022," Ruto declared.

The DP referred to NASA's rally in Mombasa on Sunday where the former Prime Minister disclosed that it was Ruto who masterminded the formation of the Coalition government during the 2008 negotiations.

"I can see that He [Raila] has started rehearsing by attacking me with claims that I masterminded the coalition government on Sunday," he stated.

He told the NASA leaders to stop side shows with their irreducible minimums adding that Jubilee had agreed to participate in the election because they believed in the constitution.

"We agreed to participate in the fresh election because we believe in the constitution which says when an election is nullified, a repeat one will be held within 60 days under the IEBC," DP Ruto conveyed.

On Sunday while addressing a rally in Karatina, DP Ruto stated that the Opposition leader's current strategy involved creating a crisis to get support from Kenyans to get into State House.

“We want to tell him that even if he moves from London, Paris or Washington he should forget the Government of nusu mkate,” he reiterated.

Reacting to Odinga’s claim that other Opposition candidates were stooges of Jubilee, the DP conveyed: “Better a stooge of Jubilee, than a stooge of foreign interests.”

DP Ruto asked the people to send Mr Odinga home on permanent retirement adding that they could only do so by voting for President Kenyatta.
