Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria Gives Special Advice to Raila

Gatundu South Member of Parliament (MP) Moses Kuria has offered NASA leader Raila Odinga a piece of advice asking the opposition leader to ensure that there will be peace in the country despite Kenya’s soaring political temperature.

Mr Kuria, in an interesting twist of events, implored the NASA Chief to choose peace, stating that it would make more strategic sense for him and the country.

Mr Odinga had called for countrywide protests to force for electoral reforms within the IEBC, among them being the firing of IEBC officials he accuses of bungling the August 8 election in favour of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“If I were to advise Raila Odinga, I would tell him to re-look at the geopolitical map of Kenya and think twice. Peace is a home game for him. Violence is an away game. Choose peace, my brother. It makes much more strategic sense,” Kuria stated.

Although some quarters have termed the protests as riots meant to destabilize the country, the NASA brigade refers to them as peaceful, insisting the violent ones are infiltrated by outsiders to mar NASA’s reputation.

The controversial legislator also rebuked Odinga concerning a speech he made in Bondo during the Mashujaa Day celebrations.

At the rally, Mr Odinga called on supporters not to make personal the political differences between him and President Kenyatta further stating that he will make an announcement “on the way forward”

Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Keriako Tobiko on Monday, October 23 ordered the immediate prosecution of Kisumu Senator Fred Outa and Ruth Odinga over attacks on IEBC officials in Kisumu.

Tobiko ordered the arrests after analyzing a letter from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Kisumu office) that had ordered for investigations to determine if the two should be prosecuted.

Senator Outa and Ms Ruth were later charged and released on a Sh500,000 bail each by the Kisumu Law Courts. The case is scheduled to be heard on November 13.
