In the run-up to the October 26 presidential election, Malindi Member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa had conveyed that the Opposition intended to enlist the services of witchdoctors to deter the IEBC from conducting the poll.

Speaking during a rally in Mombasa, the ODM MP called on witchdoctors to send bees to polling stations to prevent voters from casting their ballots.

"All witchdoctors from Chonyi, all witchdoctors from Pwani and all witchdoctors in Kenya let us come together to achieve this mission. Let us ensure we engage witchcraft to scuttle the election. Let us send bees on Election Day to disrupt the process.

"We (Coastal people) are known for having the most effective witchdoctors, let us see the witchcraft on that day," she charged.
