NASA Leader Speaks on Challenging Uhuru's Win at Supreme Court

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party Chairman John Mbadi has spoken out concerning the possibility of challenging President Uhuru Kenyatta's October 26 win at the Supreme Court.

Speaking on Thursday, the Suba South Member of Parliament has refuted any claims that the Opposition will be returning to the Supreme Court.

Mr Mbadi explained that the move would not be beneficial in achieving their goal to have a free and fair election conducted according to their irreducible minimums.

"Even if you get that prayer and have the elections annulled nothing is going to be different with the same electoral commission officials still in office," the legislator assured.

He added that the Opposition will be pursuing a different approach using the newly formed wing of NASA, the National Resistance Movement (NRM).

"The People’s Assembly will start a serious discussion on how the party can have the government listen to our plea," the legislator declared.

The Opposition MPs are currently in a deadlock with National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi who gave them a strict ultimatum to forward the names of their House leaders by Monday midnight.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga revealed that the Opposition would not be forced to comply with the directive.

"Mr Muturi and (Aden) Duale can go ahead and do whatever they want, we will not be pushed to do things. We will work at our own pace and give the names when we are ready," Ms Wanga stated.
