National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga has been sent to America for a specific mission concerning the Opposition, co-principal Moses Wetangula has revealed.

In an interview with Nation, the Bungoma Senator revealed hidden details of Mr Odinga's trip to the United States (US) conveying that it is primarily a means of piling on the pressure on the Jubilee government.

According to the Senator, Mr Odinga's week-long tour involves the unveiling of a two-step plan that has the endorsement of some powerful American politicians.

"Raila has met everybody he programmed to meet in the US, and he is continuing to meet more. When he comes back, we will release a programme, an action plan going forward," Wetangula explained.

The first approach, Mr Wetangula disclosed, involved Mr Odinga "directly" taking the message of Kenya's alleged crisis to Washington DC to reinforce pressure from the international community on President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Additionally, the Opposition chief called for an interim government that will stay in place for six months to enable a smooth transition.

The second step which is underway and it involves the People's Assembly motion that has already been adopted by Homa Bay, Siaya, Busia and Vihiga.

Former Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale added that there is a special team within NASA that specially crafted and connected Mr Odinga to the international platforms he has recently addressed.

"Everything you are seeing is deliberately thought through and is supposed to achieve specific expectations. We have constituted a special team that has been tasked with strategy, research and communication.

"We are walking a very thin line, we cannot afford to operate outside the Constitution. That is why our research team is constantly comparing strategies with the team for it to live within the law," Dr Khalwale revealed.
