2 Tactics NASA Will Use to Frustrate Uhuru - Mbadi

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Chairman John Mbadi on Wednesday stated that the Opposition will not recognize President Uhuru Kenyatta's government.

First, Mbadi noted that as part of the resistance movement, NASA will ensure that the people's assembly is fully operational.

"The people's assembly will run parallel to what we call the National Assembly. Very soon the people's assembly may overtake the national assembly," he stated.

He further maintained that the Opposition will stay away from Parliament when "illegalities are being discussed".

"Going forward there are cases we may decide to seat in parliament but when discussing illegalities like if you bring the Cabinet Secretaries appointed by Uhuru for us to approve, we cannot sit," Mbadi stated.

He, however, noted that the way forward regarding the resistance movement will be based on Opposition leader Raila Odinga's announcement on Saturday.

In a quick rejoinder, the Leader of Majority in the National Assembly, Aden Duale, stated that Jubilee can still operate with or without the Opposition MPs.

"Jubilee alone has 170 members plus our affiliate parties we have 214 members. This house can transact business in the next five years with or without the presence of NASA," Duale stated.

Meanwhile, Mr Odinga is expected to make an announcement on Saturday regarding the coalition's way forward after the Supreme Court upheld President Kenyatta's re-election.

The announcement had been scheduled for Thursday but was postponed to allow Mr Odinga, who was out of the country, to travel back.
