NTV journalist Larry Madowo on Wednesday engaged in a war of words with Assistant Inspector General Charles Owino who appeared as a guest during the Sidebar show.
Responding to Tuesday's disruption of a NASA rally, the Assistant IG stated: "Some members of our community decided to hold a prayer on the same day and that the prayers could not be held on any other day, ni uchokozi (it is provocation) if you look at it."
Seeking clarification, Larry posed: "I don't understand your argument that Kenyans who want to hold a prayer rally ni uchokozi. It was a peaceful rally until Raila Odinga finished speaking and then there was tear gas."
Mr Owino did not take the question lightly as he lashed out at the host noting: "Larry don't talk as if you are coming from the moon! We had a very important occasion yesterday and we must respect our country. If you want to become an activist it's up to you. It is immoral to talk like that and the day this country will break you are much younger than me, you will suffer more."

A combative Mr Owino dominated the deliberations with quick rebuttals and demeaning comebacks that turned the show into a shouting match.
Particularly, Mr Owino faced off with Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina, who appeared on the show, after being asked to clarify on why the police used teargas on the Opposition team.
Senator Ledama strongly refuted Mr Owino's claim that the Opposition leaders had overstepped the confines of the limited rights allowed for a Kenyan citizen by the constitution.
"You cannot come here on national television and tell us that certain rights are limited. What I will tell you," the Senator stated before the Assistant IG interjected.
"No! You will not tell me and let me warn you because I am the authority. You make the law but who enforces it?" The officer stated repeatedly, drowning out the host as the exchange between the two grew louder.
