Over 20 Killed in Accident at Sachangwan [PHOTOS]

At least 30 people are feared dead after a grisly road accident that occurred at Sachangwan, along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway.

Preliminary reports indicate that around 13 vehicles were involved in the crash; two trucks, a Land Cruiser, two private cars, lorries, shuttles, and three matatus.

A bus belonging to Modern Coast company heading to Kampala from Nairobi had one side ripped off.

Police at the scene stated that they had counted 15 bodies as dozens of survivors were rushed to MediHeal and Nakuru Level Five Hospitals in Nakuru town.

A 10-year-old boy died on arrival at the Nakuru Level Five Hospital.

NTSA director Francis Mejja stated that his team was conducting patrols in the area and had flagged down an Easy Coach bus that was overtaking.

Shortly after, a trailer passed at high speed and hit a bump before losing control and rammed into oncoming vehicles.

The scene of the accident is a few kilometers from Kamara area where seven artistes died on Saturday.

Elsewhere, 19 people perished after several vehicles were involved in a multiple accident at Kamukuywa bridge along Kitale-Webuye highway on Monday night.

Bungoma North OCPD Eliud Okello stated that a matatu rammed into a tractor that was transporting sugar cane at Kamukuywa bridge.

Several other vehicles including lorries and private vehicles were involved in the 9pm multiple accident.
