Members of Parliament have reprimanded President Uhuru Kenyatta over nominations to the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC).
On Wednesday, during a session, the legislators rejected Jubilee nominees Beth Mugo, Adan Keynan and Naomi Shaban who they stated had served for more than two terms.
MPs aligned to Jubilee accused the party’s leadership of using them to rubber-stamp decisions without consulting the legislators.
The lawmakers further criticized the Jubilee leadership for not giving them the opportunity to elect members whom they wanted.

Additionally, Jubilee MPs are alleged to have stated that the chair's position in the Parliamentary Service Commission should not be awarded to members from either Central Kenya or the Rift Valley.
Ruaraka MP T.J Kajwang’ criticized the President for chairing a meeting with Jubilee legislators at State House to discuss who should be in the Commission.
The Opposition MP stated that issues surrounding PSC nominees should be left to the legislators without interference from the executive.
“Parliamentary independence is very important and members should not be controlled to make decisions from State House,” MP Kajwang’ stated.
However, the Jubilee party is not the only side affected with making its decisions based on influence from its leadership, NASA MPs have also been affected by the same.
