Wetangula Explains How He Will Beat DP Ruto in 2022

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula on Sunday stated that he will defeat deputy President William Ruto in the 2022 General Election.

Speaking during the homecoming of Soi Sambu Mitwa MCA Stephen Wafula, the NASA co-principal highlighted that it is time the 'Mulembe' nation produce a President so that the national cake is distributed equitably.

He noted that with the Luhyas are now united, therefore, they stand a high chance to get one of their own in the House on the hill.

"We as Luhyas were once confused with each going his way. But that has long been solved when ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and I came together and decided to walk together," Wetang'ula asserted.

The Ford Kenya party leader mentioned that the country is fed up with being led by only two tribes.

He expressed that many Kenyans are hurt to see that the Presidency has only been held by the Kikuyu and Kalenjin communities since independence.

"When the presidential ball comes from Mzee Jomo Kenyatta it goes to Daniel Moi, when it comes from Moi it goes to Mwai Kibaki, when it comes from Kibaki it goes to Uhuru Kenyatta - now they want it back to William Ruto," he reckoned.

Wetangula articulated that the country has many other communities that can also produce heads of state.

The NASA co-principal reiterated that he does not recognize President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP Ruto as Kenya's leaders "since they are in power through the back door."

He affirmed that he only recognises coalition leader Raila Odinga as the country's rightfully elected leader.

He justified their decision to boycott the repeat poll on October 26 claiming that it was an exercise in "stupidity".

"We did not want to participate in something called stupidity where you do the same thing and expect different results," he added.

Wetangula also articulated that the August 8 election was the last time the NASA leader would vie for the Presidency and he is to pass down the mantle to one of his co-principals.

"We agreed with Raila that the election was the last polls he will be participating in and he will throw the ball back to one of NASA's co-principals," the Senator divulged.

The Senator further noted that NASA remains committed to swearing in Odinga as earlier planned.
