Kajiado MP Explains Alleged Arrest For Making Calls to  President Uhuru

Kajiado West Member of Parliament (MP) George Sunkuyia on Friday explained why he was accused of making incessant calls to President Uhuru Kenyatta that allegedly led to his arrest.

Mr Sunkuyia divulged that he is in constant communication with the President but indicated that none of their conversation could have led to an arrest.

“I am in constant communication with the President, and if it is true he is offended by my calls, he should have told me verbally and not using the police,” he explained.

He further linked this claims to a case filed against him in court which he noted that he would handle solely without the President's help.

“It is true I have a petition case pending in court, and I cannot be so naive to ask for the president’s favors to be bailed out. It is my case, not a state case. I am taking up this matter with the police,"he stated.

He accused a Kajiado opposition politician whom he did not disclose for the spread of misinformation, which he stated is meant to tarnish his name.

His statement was also backed by Ongata Rongai OCPD Silas Ringera who confirmed that the Police did not interrogate the MP.

“I should have known of his arrest had he been brought here. We do not have that MP’s name in our occurrence book, and therefore treat that as rumors,” he stated.

Rumours going rounds on social media claimed that he had been arrested by Police on December 27 on arrival from Mombasa where he had gone on Saturday.
