Details of Fake Projects Jubilee Launched Before Election

New details have merged indicating that the Jubilee administration launched 'fake development projects' before the election to sway voters to support the party's re-election bid.

Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya claimed that the Jubilee administration initiated 'fake projects' in the County to convince voters in the region to support them during the August General Election.

He alleged that the government launched a series of road projects which never took off.

“They came and launched tarmacking of Lurambi-Navakholo-Musikoma and Ibokolo Shianda-Nambacha roads and started in the middle and are still dragging to date.

"Let them bring the development now that elections are over," Oparanya was quoted by the Star.

He made the remarks during the opening of the Sh34 Million modern market at Navakholo Centre that has been constructed by the Kakamega County government.

The Lurambi-Navakholo-Musikoma road has been in a pathetic condition since independence and politicians have been using it as a campaign tool over the years.

In 2016, President Uhuru Kenyatta launched a Sh2 Billion project to ensure that the road is tarmacked as part of his promise to enhance development in the Western region.

The Lurambi road is highly regarded in the region as it links Kakamega and Bungoma counties.
