"Most counties do not have a structured way of handling communications and I am here to provide direction and use my expertise to streamline the entire communication process.

"I have been a broadcast journalist for around 10 years, five of which I was based in Nyeri. I understand the county in-depth and I am looking forward to the new challenge," she stated.

In November, NTV Journalist Kennedy Muriithi was appointed as the Communications Director in Tharaka Nithi County.

Muriithi, who worked as a Parliamentary and Political Reporter at NTV, described the move as a journey to new beginnings.

“I thank Nation for having given me a job for the last five years. I have worked with amazing people from whom I've learned from," Muriithi stated.

In the same month, former Nation Media Group journalist Wallace Kantai was also appointed the new Central Bank of Kenya Head of Communications.

According to the bank, Mr Kantai was hired because of his vast experience in the communications field.

This includes moderating high-profile international business panels and conferences.

He also interviewed many prominent business personalities during his stint on the airwaves.
