Kenyans were on Tuesday engaged in various heated discussions leading a number of hashtags and topic to top trends on Twitter.

The hashtag #DeceitfulLawyerSpencerElms was used to revive discussions concerning a Nairobi lawyer, Spencer Elms, who was convicted for allegedly attempting to acquire property using forged documents.

One commentator shared a screenshot of an article that alleged: "His business every day is to fish vulnerable but wealthy persons of the White origin who live in Kenya and once he assembles his team, they just strike their targets and leave them dead or alive."

Baringo Senator Gideon Moi/ Senate ICT

The two topics topped trends on Twitter after Baringo Senator Gideon Moi was elected as the Chairman of the ICT committee in the Senate.

The KANU Chairman was on Tuesday elected unopposed as the Senate ICT Committee chairperson to be deputized by nominated Senator Halake Abshiro.

Netizens took the opportunity to discuss 2022 succession politics pitting the Senator against Deputy President William Ruto.
